Draft Landscape Plan
Council are planning to improve the amenity of the Ascot Vale neighbourhood by upgrading the Ascot Vale Railway Reserve (between North Street and Bloomfield Road).
This will involve Council applying for a community land lease with VicTrack, followed by staged landscape upgrade works as outlined:
Stage 01: Removal of weeds and providing new mass planting;
Stage 02: Widen the path to 3m, relocate pedestrian lighting and provide a new bluestone wall, rockwork and fencing;
Stage 03: install pocket park seating, decking, bike hoops and signage.
Timing of the works is yet to be confirmed.
Note: Works are subject to VicTrack and all relevant Authorities final approval.
Feedback received from community in May 2019 was supportive of the planned improvement of the landscape. Council is now in the process of receiving approval from rail authorities. Once this in place we will update this page with next steps.
