Consultation Process

We delivered a draft budget that:

  • delivers the projects that are most important to our community
  • provides critical community services to those who need it most

If you live, work, learn or play in Moonee Valley, we want to make sure your voice is heard as we plan for the future.

The draft Council and Health Plan Initiatives identify key actions that Moonee Valley City Council will focus their efforts in 2024/25 in order to deliver the commitments of the Council and Health Plan 2021-25.

This year we are investing in a range of improvements across Moonee Valley including $50.08 million in capital works and $220.96 million in delivering critical community services.

Some of the key budget highlights include: 

  • Clifton Park pavilion upgrade ($6.15 million)
  • Buckley Park Bowling Green #3 – new lighting ($175,000)
  • Ascot Vale Library redevelopment ($1.58 million)
  • Hockey Lane – public lighting upgrade ($525,000)
  • Essendon Rowing Club – female change room upgrade ($969,000)
  • Doyle Street Reserve – sports field renewal ($2.50 million) and lighting upgrades ($615,000)
  • Bowes Avenue Netball courts – surface renewal design ($100,000)

  • We are also investing in a range of improvements across the city, including: 

  • planting more trees ($1.1 million)
  • Early Years Building Blocks fit-out program ($1 million)
  • drainage improvement works ($2.48 million)
  • renewing local roads ($6.41 million)
  • leisure facilities renewal and upgrade works ($1.1 million)
  • pedestrian and shared path improvements ($5.02 million)
  • building renewals and upgrades ($1.49 million)
  • greenhouse gas emission reduction initiatives ($350,000)
