Are you a dog or cat owner? Pet sitter, dog walker, or maybe an all-round animal enthusiast?

We need your help in shaping our Domestic Animal Management Plan, to plan the future for the pets of Moonee Valley.

All Victorian Councils are required to complete a Domestic Animal Management Plan (DAMP) every four years. The DAMP outlines Council's approach to management of domestic animals including:

  • encouraging the registration of dogs and cats
  • promoting and educate responsible pet ownership
  • minimising the potential for domestic animals to create a nuisance
  • minimising the risk of dog attacks on people and animals
  • managing dangerous, menacing and restricted breed dogs
  • monitoring and address overpopulation and euthanasia rates

We now need your ideas and thoughts to help us develop our approach to management of domestic animals in Moonee Valley.

You don't need to be a pet owner to participate, we'd like to hear from everyone.

Thank you for your ideas, survey responses and feedback. We are currently drafting the DAMP in consideration of the community feedback.

Watch this space - we will seek your feedback on the draft DAMP soon!
