Background
Melbourne Water has developed a concept design for the second stage of Reimagining Moonee Ponds Creek. The design has been informed by community feedback and incorporates lessons learned from Stage 1, including integrating local and Traditional Owner knowledge and values.
This next stage will focus on the section of creek between Ivan Street in Strathmore and the Pascoe Vale Road bridge, building on the works completed in the previous stage.
These changes aim to improve water quality, biodiversity and habitat, while enhancing the surrounding open space for the community.
The project is being delivered by Melbourne Water on behalf of the Chain of Ponds Collaboration Group, and is jointly funded by the Australian Government's Urban Rivers and Catchments Program and Melbourne Water.
Community consultation is being managed by Melbourne Water. To view the concept design and learn more about what’s planned, visit Melbourne Water’s Let’s Talk webpage.
