The Parliament of Victoria has established the Legislative Council Environment and Planning Committee to investigate how state and local governments, statutory authorities, and essential service providers engage with communities. It is also exploring the role of non-government organisations in conducting consultations on behalf of government agencies.
Additionally, the inquiry is reviewing standards of conduct, including the preparedness for community consultations and the effectiveness of the Engage Victoria platform.
The Committee is inviting public submissions, with a deadline of Friday, 6 June 2025.
