Activity centres are vibrant places where people shop, work, connect with family and friends as well as live. They range in size, from local shopping strips to centres that include universities and major regional shopping malls.
The Victorian Government is planning for more homes to be built in the Niddrie and North Essendon activity centres, close to all the services, jobs and transport they have to offer.
The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) and the Victorian Planning Authority (VPA) are leading this project and are engaging with local community. Earlier this year, they reached out to ask what community members love about their local area. Using the feedback they gathered, they created the Draft Niddrie (Keilor Road) Activity Centre Plan (PDF) and the Draft North Essendon Activity Centre Plan (PDF).
DTP and VPA were seeking feedback on these plans throughout August. Find out more information about that consultation by heading to the consultation page on Engage Victoria.
