Background
As our community grows, parks and open spaces play an increasingly important role in everyday life.
Victoria State Government's Pick My Park program is investing $30 million to improve access to quality parks and open spaces in growing areas.
Moonee Valley has three park upgrade projects submitted as part of this program. Each project is identified in our Draft
4-year Capital Works Plan.
The projects are:
- Fairbairn Park, Ascot Vale – play space, landscaping and a multipurpose hard-court area.
- Overland Reserve, Keilor East – play space, picnic facilities, landscaping and a multipurpose hard-court area.
- Hallkeeper Lane, Moonee Ponds – upgraded seating, landscaping and artwork to support regular use.
All three projects have moved to the public voting phase of the grant process.
Public voting phase
Victorians aged 16 and over can vote for their preferred park projects from Saturday, 20 June to Monday, 3 August 2026 on the Engage Victoria website.
Community votes are important. They show support for each project and help strengthen its case for funding.
We encourage residents to vote and share the opportunity with others.
Progressing to the public voting stage does not guarantee funding. Final decisions are subject to the overall grant assessment process.
