The corner of Mt Alexander Road and Wellington Street (177a Mt Alexander Road) in Flemington will be transformed into a pocket park with support from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).
The small triangular space will become a green oasis among the nearby schools, shops and tram stops. We hope to open Moonee Valley’s newest park in 2022. You can now view the updated Concept Design in the Document Library.
Thank you to everyone who provided thoughts on the Draft Concept Design for the Flemington Pocket Park in November 2020. We received nearly 150 responses via the Your Say page, email, social media and posted responses. Additional feedback was received from Mt Alexander College students and meetings with Wurundjeri representatives.
You can view the Community Consultation Report on the Draft Concept Design and previous feedback from young people in the Document Library.
In answer to the question – Do you like the draft design?, responses were: 44 Yes, 20 Maybe and 15 No. We received a wide range of feedback which was used to help finalise the Concept Design.
A number of park name suggestions were received by the November 2020 deadline. These will be reviewed as part of Council's naming process and there will be further consultation on park name suggestions in 2021.
