About the MEMPC
We're seeking expressions of interest from community members to join the Moonee Valley Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee.
The Moonee Valley Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee (MEMPC) is formed pursuant to the Emergency Management Act 2013 and the Emergency Management Legislation Amendment Act 2018 (EMLA Act). The Moonee Valley MEMPC is a multi-agency collaboration group. The members of this committee bring organisation, industry or personal expertise to the task of developing a comprehensive emergency management plan for the municipality.
The MEMPC is responsible for municipal emergency management planning and meets on a quarterly basis.
MEMPC Community Member Expectations
Partnership
Members participating in the MEMPC do so with a partnership approach, providing advice in the best interest of the residents of Moonee Valley. Members must, in good faith, represent all areas of our municipality.
Confidentiality
All members must respect all confidentialities and operating protocols of the MEMPC. Information shared at MEMPC meetings and emails to members or between members should not be shared or released without prior written consent from the MEMPC Chair.
Conflict of interest
If a member has a direct or indirect interest in a matter to be decided by the MEMPC, they must declare their conflict or perceived conflict.
Time commitment
Members are required to attend the four MEMPC meetings held per year, provide input at those meetings and receive/send correspondence to/from the MEMPC. Meetings are held virtually via MS Teams, ‘in person’ at Moonee Valley Council’s Civic Office in Moonee Ponds or a hybrid of both.
Appointment term
The Community Representative will join the MEMPC for a period of two years.
