To support hospitality businesses during Victorian Government COVID-19 restrictions, Moonee Valley City Council developed a new Outdoor Trading program to temporarily allow businesses to expand their dining spaces outdoors, into new areas. The program included the following elements:
1. Parklets - The introduction of the Summer and Autumn parklet programs. Parklets are re-purposed parking bays which are designed to accommodate outdoor dining and seating.
2. Footpath dining - Council has worked with businesses to increase footpath dining where streets/laneways adjacent to restaurants and cafes may enable alfresco dining.
3. Streets, parks and community spaces - Streets and laneways and other land near restaurants and cafes have also been converted into outdoor dining venues.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our quick poll and survey. The findings are now being collated and we will reporting back the findings with you shortly.

We would like to hear from the community about their experiences in using our parklets and street based outdoor dining venues along with the wider community's thoughts on outdoor dining opportunities to help inform Council decisions on whether to extend or support the program into the future.
