Queens Park is one of Moonee Valley’s best known civic and historic parks. Located opposite the Moonee Valley City Council civic centre, the park was declared a reserve in 1884. Since this time, the park has come to be valued highly by the community both for its heritage attributes and its significance as a contemporary community space.
Within the park is a historic curator's cottage, which began operating as a cafe in the early 1990s. After undergoing repairs and maintenance over the past year, the much loved and iconic Queens Park Café will soon re-open its doors to the public.
Throughout November 2025 a process was conducted inviting expressions of interest for the lease and operation of this cottage in Moonee Ponds. It is envisaged that the process will be formalised in the coming months.
If you have any feedback to provide about the lease of this property, please contact Council's Community Engagement Team by 5 March, 2026.
