Road Management Plan 2025-2029 Endorsed

30 October 2025

At its meeting on 28th October, Council endorsed the Road Management Plan 2025-2029. A total of 27 Moonee Valley residents provided feedback on the draft Plan, for Council consideration. Key community feedback included:

  • Majority overall support for changes proposed in the draft Plan.
  • Considerable support for enhancements proposed in the draft Plan, including improved maintenance of roads, footpaths, and cycle paths, which respondents considered to be positive and necessary for safety.
  • Cautious support for efficiencies proposed in the draft Plan, with respondents stressing the importance of accessibility, and noting the potential for even small defects in paths and roads to create significant risks, particularly for wheelchair users and people with mobility aids.

Community feedback received resulted in a change to the draft Plan, including reclassifying footpaths surrounding aged care facilities and specialist schools as High Use Paths, to ensure they are being inspected more regularly. This will further optimise community safety and deliver an enhanced level of service to road and footpath users across the municipality.

The endorsed Plan and community consultation report are available in the document library on the project Your Say page.
