Thank you to everyone who participated in this consultation. Council has endorsed the Seasonal Sport Allocation Policy. Council officers are currently engaging with facility users to inform allocations for the coming season.

This Policy will guide the fair and equitable allocation of Council’s seasonally used sporting grounds and pavilions to sport and recreation clubs.

A first round of consultation was held during May and June, 2021 and we spoke to over 45 sporting clubs, received 180 Your Say survey responses and had 28 forum posts.

Through our first round of consultation we heard:

  • The fair allocation of facilities to sport and recreation clubs is important to clubs and the wider community
  • Sporting facilities play a vital role in keeping our community active
  • Sporting facilities are highly valued community assets

You can now read some of the findings from the first phase of community engagement here.

Following consultation, the draft Seasonal Sport Allocation Policy was developed and presented to Council on 10 August, 2021 and endorsed for further consultation with sport and recreation clubs and the community.

Consultation took place with sport and recreation clubs who are seasonally allocated sporting facilities in the City of Moonee Valley and the wider community during the months of October and November. Thank you to everyone who participated. A summary of the engagement findings will be available here soon.
