Following extensive consultation between 18th July and 17th August 2025, the Landscape Concept Design for Montgomery Park has been finalised.

Consultation outcomes

Key findings from this community consultation include:

• 90% of respondents either strongly supported (48%) or supported (42%) the proposed concept design.
• The five highest ranked proposed improvements for Montgomery Park were:

• Upgraded play space
• Nature based play
• Picnic facilities
• Improved natural shade
• Multi court and hit up wall and integrated bouldering wall.

Final concept design

Council considered community feedback and the following changes to the concept design have been made:

• Removal of the BMX pump track
• Relocation of the hard court
• Removal of the muti-use stage and replaced with a small natural amphitheatre
• Removal of exercise equipment
• Realignment of pathways
• Increased planting besides the kindergarten
• Additional planting

The construction of this project will be subject to the availability of project funding via the Council Budget process. The draft Four Year Capital Works Program 2026/27–2026/30 is currently on public exhibition from 2 February to 2 March 2026. More information about that process is available here.
