Taking our Advocacy to the Minister

7 March 2019

Today, we took our advocacy for a station at Airport West to the Minister. We are very grateful to local Member for Niddrie, Minister Ben Carroll MP, who was able to set up a meeting between the Mayor, Cr Narelle Sharpe, and Minister for Transport Infrastructure, the Hon. Jacinta Allan MP so that we could put the case on behalf of our community for a station at Airport West. The Mayor presented the Minister with a folio of information about our proposal, including a copy of the comments you have posted on this page showing your support for a station.

The Minister showed a great deal of awareness of our campaign and indicated that she has visited the area where we are proposing to build a station. She indicated that the Government will consider the proposal for a station at Airport West as they progress the business case for both the Melbourne Airport Rail Link and the Suburban Rail Loop. Great news!
