During 2020 Council noticed a rise in makeshift dirt jumps and bike tracks in many parks across Moonee Valley. In response to this Council explored options and engaged with the community about opportunities for BMX, Mountain bike tracks (MTB) and other recreational activities for young people in our parks.

As a result of this engagement, Council installed a pop-up pump track in Montgomery Park, Essendon, in 2022.

The original aim of this pop-up pump track was to have it rotate around parks in the municipality so that everyone in our community would have a chance to enjoy this pump track close to their home. The pump track will be relocated in late-2024. We're keen to understand from our community about their preference for where the pump track goes next from the locations below:

  • Windsor Drive Reserve, Avondale Heights
  • Riviera Reserve, Avondale Heights
  • Cannes Ave Reserve, Avondale Heights
  • Victory Park, Ascot Vale
  • Clarinda Park, Essendon
  • Talbot Rd Wallace Crescent Reserve, Strathmore
  • Cliff Allison Reserve, Essendon
  • LT Thompson Reserve, Essendon

Final site selection will be subject to further investigations prior to relocating the pump track.
